Welcome to our Web site!

Sandy and I are from Atlanta, Georgia and moved here to London in January of this year.  This site is an attempt to let all of our friends see what life is like for us here in "jolly 'ole England".

We live in Kensington, about halfway between Hyde Park and Holland Park in London's West End.  This is considered something of a trendy part of town and it allows us to be right in the midst of shopping, restaurants, and the parks.   It is about a 5 minute walk to the High Street Kensington Tube Station (London Underground).  Within about a 10 minute walking radius are three grocery stores, a large Homebase store (similar to Home Depot), the library, a police station, the post office, restaurants, etc.  We're close enough to Hyde Park that we can honestly say that we are neighbors to the royals in Kensington Palace!

I work at Southern Energy's office in Mayfair (the "Southern House") and I walk the 2 1/2 miles each way every day.  It is about 8 minutes to Hyde Park and then about 25 minutes all the way across the park.  It is really quite a lovely walk through the gardens and along the Serpentine.  On the other side of the park, it is about a 5 minute walk to the office.  If it is really raining, I can always take a double-decker bus that takes about 20 minutes and costs 90p each way (about $1.50).

Sandy no longer works at a job, but she keeps plenty busy keeping up the flat, doing daily grocery shopping, making excursions around the city, and planning the next vacation.
